Industrial noise and odor near the community college

A resident living near the train tracks and community college described a 24-hour buzzing noise from a nearby facility that lasted two weeks, plus a chemical smell so strong that when she was eight months pregnant she struggled to breathe outside. She said neighbors have complained before, and asked the city to look into it.

Sandy Circle resident Stetson Smith said he has raised the noise, shaking, and offcasting issues from the metal plant before, said the city previously promised a required sound wall was in the building permit but it was never built, and pushed back on the mayor's claim that this was the first report.
